Construction engineer Jim Manning (white shirt, 3rd from left) is Mike and Mark's grandfather. These guys had some serious machinery to play with. Photo was taken in Philadelphia, 1919

This 1931 Model A was Dad's (Peter Kostic) pride and joy back in 1948. Photo was taken at the Ford plant in NJ where Dad worked. Keen eyed viewers will notice the V8 hubcaps, meaning that this car had the larger wheels, tires, and juice brakes from a later model B. Unfortunately, the flathead 4-banger was still under the hood.

Here's Jamie posing on the back tire of Uncle Michael's modified in the pits at Delmar. Jamie and mom Kathy went to a lot of modified races before he started Quarter Midget racing. Jamie was 3 1/2 when this picture was taken but already has a custom made driver's suit.

Jamie's first Quarter Midget win as a novice in 1992 at Blackbird. This was Jamie's first race car, an "experienced" Kurtis FX. After he came off the track, Jamie said the hardest  part of the race was driving the car with one hand and holding the checker on his victory lap. This photo was taken by Walt Chernokal.

The Kostics have been messing around with machinery and cars for a long time, as these pictures show.
